Christmas Dresses

Growing up I was always jealous of sisters and their matching dresses for Christmas therefore I had to make matching dresses for my girls. As mentioned in my previous post I didn't finish them until Christmas Eve so they got to wear them the Sunday after Christmas in stead of the Sunday before. Here are a few more pictures on them in their dresses.

Matching Christmas Jammies

We always get jammies for Christmas Eve and I was so happy to find matching sets for the girls. Jared, myself and the girls had a fun playing games with my parents. This may just become a new tradition going to Grandma and Grandpas in our PJs, drinking hot chocolate and playing games.

MaKenas Gingerbread House

This is the Gingerbread House Kena made at her class party.

Pictures with Santa

So I have done pictures with Santa every year for MaKena in her Christmas dress. I wasn't about to stop that tradition just because there was a 3 hour wait, yes 3 hours. Lesson learned don't wait to finish sewing your daughters Christmas dresses until Christmas Eve at 10:30 in the morning. Next year I will be starting their dresses in November. The dresses turned out great and so did the picture so it was all worth it. We even got a great smile from Kayli.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

I love decorating for Christmas each year and the Christmas tree is at the top of my list. This year I decided to do two trees. My pretty tree as I like to refer to it and a woodland tree. My "pretty tree" is the perfect combination of elegant and casual with a hint of character. This year I decided to go with traditional red, green, and gold. For this tree I went all out on the top with lots of stems in red and gold and two big red dragonflys that were used for decorations at my wedding. I have a large variety of ornaments( no more than 4 of each) this works great so you don't have to worry about having repeats next to each other. Once the ornaments are on I add in stems and ribbon to fill in where you can't put ornaments.

My woodland tree is a casual tree with very fun unique ornaments. I have done a tree with this theme in the past but this year I added the painted boards and I think they turned out great. There are five boards total and they say Santa, Believe, Joy, HO HO HO, and Noel. I found the boards on sale at a boutique and they were brown and said lemons, apples so I painted them a barn red and then stenciled on the words. I just love how this tree turned out, it has some really unique ornaments that I have collected through the years. Oh and go check out Tip Junkie she is having a Christmas Tree Contest.

Cookie Decorating

When I was a kid my mom would make tons of giant sugar cookies and let my brothers and I call the neighbor kids over to decorate them. We would all (probably 30 to 40 kids)go out on the back porch and cover them with frosting a sprinkles. She did this for about 5 years it was great and we all loved it. Anyways I have wanted to do this but time hasn't permitted so when my Mom said we were going to have FHE I said I would do the treats. The kids all enjoyed themselves and got a good sugar high.

Christmas Dance Recital

Makena had a in class dance recital she did a great job. Can I just say that girl loves to dance whenever she heres music she has to bust a move. I guess Kayli didn't enjoy it.

Kena tried to kiss a rock

MaKena was running around at the cabin with her cousins and tripped. This pictures are after a couple of days and you can't even tell it happened now. But it looked bad at first and her cheek was swollen under her eye.

Snow on the Rim

On the way home from Heber we stopped on the rim so MaKena could play in the snow and show off her artistic abilities.

Thanksgiving in Heber

We went with my sister-in-law Jamie's family to Heber for Thanksgiving. We had a great time, great food thanks to my brother Reed, his turkey and stuffing were fabulous. Too bad I didn't take pictures until we were about to leave.

Bathtime in the Sink

I just love bath time.

About Me

My photo
Jared and I were married March 1st 2002. Yes that makes 8 years happily married. Shortly after getting married we moved to Utah for work and while there we were joined by our daughter MaKena on June 16, 2003. If I had to describe MaKena in one word it would be personality, she is bursting at the seams with it. We were in Utah for a year and a half and then moved back to AZ. After a long wait we happily welcomed Kayli to our family on June 12, 2008. Kayli is a whirl wind and keeps me on my feet. She is talking like crazy and has no fear. She is her daddy's girl through and through. Makena looks more and more like me all the time and Kayli is the spitting image of her daddy(yet feminine). We are so excited to add our first little boy to the family in May of 2010. Jared stays very busy with work and I am loving being a mom and wife. I love to do anything crafty(sew, crossstitch, paper crafts, etc)reading, and organizing my house. I always have way to many projects going at one time.
